Worked on enhancing domain matching functionality in the streamlit/streamlit repository by implementing support for URLPattern-compatible patterns, addressing issues with wildcard handling, particularly in Firefox. The approach involved introducing a browser compatibility polyfill to ensure consistent URL pattern support across different browsers, thereby improving reliability for wildcard scenarios. Updated unit tests to reflect the new boolean return types and expanded coverage to include a variety of pattern matching cases. Utilized JavaScript and TypeScript for frontend development, with a focus on browser compatibility and comprehensive testing. The work delivered a targeted feature improvement without introducing bug fixes during the development period.
