Developed and delivered a NixOS user onboarding feature for the kolyma-labs/instances repository, focusing on automating the provisioning of a new system user with enhanced security and reproducibility. The work involved configuring hashed passwords, managing group memberships, and integrating SSH authorized keys to streamline secure access. Leveraging Nix and Home Manager, the implementation ensured that the user’s home directory and environment were set up consistently across deployments. This approach improved onboarding efficiency and reduced manual intervention in system administration tasks. The contribution demonstrated practical application of NixOS configuration and system administration skills, addressing user management needs in Nix-based environments.
