Enhanced the Gateway API Inference Extension by expanding the README with a detailed Concepts and Definitions section, clarifying AI inference terminology for new contributors. For the Inference Scheduler, refactored the build process and configuration using Go, Dockerfile, and Makefile, optimizing Docker image creation and tightening linting standards with golangci-lint. Introduced new unit and integration test targets, resulting in faster, more reliable builds and tests. These improvements reduced onboarding friction and improved code quality and maintainability across both projects.
