Worked on the Arweave repository to enhance backend reliability by addressing two critical bugs in chunk processing and logging. Focused on distributed systems challenges, the developer corrected an issue where chunk2 could be stored even if chunk1 was missing, ensuring missing chunks are properly tracked when nonces fall outside the expected offset. Improvements also included refining logging by updating field names for accuracy and simplifying chunk skipping logic to reduce unnecessary state updates. All changes were implemented in Erlang, with an emphasis on maintainability and traceability, resulting in more efficient processing and easier future debugging for the Arweave codebase.
