Worked on the TobikoData/sqlmesh repository to enhance the Redshift engine adapter by implementing support for configurable table properties. Focused on enabling users to specify distribution style, distribution key, and sort key during table creation, this feature improved data organization, performance tuning, and workload optimization for Redshift workloads. The solution was delivered through targeted changes in Python, leveraging backend development and SQL skills to ensure robust database management. Unit testing was used to validate the new functionality and maintain code quality. The work demonstrated a focused approach, addressing a single feature with clear traceability and attention to performance and maintainability.
