Developed Redis database option support for the metalbear-co/mirrord repository, enabling Redis-backed data storage across both local and remote branches. The work involved updating the schema and configuration files to accommodate Redis as a configurable backend, as well as implementing robust connection handling to ensure reliable data access. By integrating Redis, the solution expanded deployment flexibility and improved scalability for caching and data-access workloads, allowing centralized Redis usage across different environments. The project was executed using Rust, with a focus on backend development and database management, and addressed operational friction by streamlining configuration and supporting diverse storage requirements within mirrord.
