In December 2025, Sergey Motrov delivered two features across the tarantool/datafusion and sinelaw/fresh repositories, focusing on cross-platform development and Rust programming. In datafusion, Sergey implemented configurable compression levels for JSON and CSV writers, enabling users to optimize storage and transfer costs for large datasets by selecting compression algorithms and levels. This involved extending APIs, updating protobuf definitions, and ensuring backward compatibility, with validation through comprehensive Rust-based integration tests. In the fresh repository, Sergey improved terminal UI rendering by switching scrollbar visuals from glyphs to background fills, enhancing visual consistency and reliability across diverse terminal environments, including Apple Terminal.
