Worked on the lima-vm/lima repository to enhance backend observability by delivering a Structured Error Logging Enhancement. Refactored the existing error reporting system to replace string-based error formatting with structured logs using logger.WithError, providing richer error context and improving traceability for debugging. This Go-based solution established a standardized approach to logging, laying the foundation for future monitoring and alerting capabilities across the codebase. Throughout the month, maintained high code quality by adhering to contribution guidelines and ensuring proper commit signing. The work focused on backend development in Go, prioritizing maintainability and supporting faster issue diagnosis without introducing new bug fixes.
