Worked on enhancing email encoding and decoding robustness in the zulip/zulip repository, focusing on improving the reliability of Hebrew email rendering. Leveraged Python’s get_content_charset method to accurately detect and handle email charsets, addressing previous decoding issues. Added support for the iso-8859-8-i encoding to the email mirror, ensuring proper processing of Hebrew content. Developed comprehensive end-to-end tests to validate the new encoding path, strengthening test coverage and reducing the risk of decoding failures. Demonstrated backend development and email handling skills, with an emphasis on test-driven development practices to ensure the stability and correctness of email processing features.
