Worked on the OpenROAD project to deliver robust incremental routing enhancements in the GRT/CUGR modules, focusing on improving routing quality and maintainability. Developed new API methods and per-net state tracking in C++ to support incremental routing, and refactored the architecture to a queue-and-execute model for better throughput. Enhanced routing algorithms by sorting dirty nets by slack and enabling congestion-aware detours, while also integrating Tcl scripting for command exposure. Addressed build reliability and code quality through SWIG integration, CI fixes, and clang-tidy compliance. The work combined algorithm optimization, software refactoring, and rigorous testing to stabilize and advance incremental routing workflows.
Concise monthly summary for 2026-03 (The OpenROAD project). This month重点ed on delivering robust incremental routing enhancements in GRT/CUGR, stabilizing the incremental path, and aligning tests/CI. Key features delivered include incremental routing support for CUGR with new API and state tracking; improved incremental routing quality by sorting dirty nets by Slack before rip-up; incremental topology refresh support via updateNet after buffer insertion with endIncremental wiring and a dedicated Tcl command; architectural refactor of CUGR incremental routing to the FastRouteCore queue-and-execute model for better throughput and maintainability; congestion-view-aware detours enabled by extracting congestion view after rip-up. In addition, test updates and CI/build reliability improvements were completed to reflect renamed commands and to fix CI issues.
