Stephane Poignant contributed to the opensourcerouting/frr repository by addressing a critical issue in BGP Flowspec NLRI parsing. He removed an incorrect size limit check that previously caused valid BGP announcements containing multiple flowspec NLRIs to be rejected, thereby aligning the implementation with RFC 8955. Working primarily in C and leveraging expertise in BGP, network protocols, and routing, Stephane’s targeted fix improved the interoperability and stability of flowspec processing for users relying on FRR. Although the work focused on a single bug fix over one month, it demonstrated careful attention to protocol compliance and practical impact on network operations.
