Steve Green contributed to the oaknational/oak-components repository by introducing a new design system token, spacing-1360, to the theme’s spacing configuration. This addition enabled more consistent spacing and greater layout flexibility across the component library. Steve applied a token-driven approach, aligning the design system’s spacing with the existing design kit to streamline UI decisions and support scalable interfaces. The work demonstrated skills in UI/UX design and front end development, with a focus on TypeScript and design tokens. Over the month, Steve’s efforts strengthened the design-system foundation, though the scope was limited to a single feature without major bug fixes.
