Stig focused on maintaining stability within the GaetanLepage/nixpkgs repository by addressing a recurring build issue affecting the CryptDES Perl package. Using expertise in build system management and package management, Stig identified that a recent patch intended to fix the package had instead introduced intermittent build failures. To resolve this, Stig reverted the problematic patch, restoring reliable builds and preventing further CI regressions. The work was carried out using Nix, with careful monitoring to ensure ongoing stability. Although no new features were introduced during this period, Stig’s targeted remediation preserved downstream reliability and maintained confidence in the package ecosystem.
