Contributed to the Azure/ARO-HCP repository by delivering eight features and one bug fix over six months, focusing on observability, monitoring, and infrastructure automation. Developed end-to-end API workflows and Bash scripts for node pool management, integrated Grafana dashboards for frontend and backend metrics, and implemented Prometheus alerting rules using Bicep and YAML. Enhanced cross-cluster observability with parameterized Kusto scripts and backend metrics controllers in Go, improving monitoring reliability and incident response. Addressed documentation accuracy and configuration management, enabling automated action routing and scalable alerting. The work emphasized Infrastructure as Code, cloud development, and robust monitoring setup across multiple environments.
In April 2026, delivered enhanced monitoring and alerting for RP (ARO-RP) within the Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO-HCP) project. Implemented a dedicated monitoring lane with action groups and alerting rules, and expanded RP monitoring configuration keys to enable automated action routing and management across multiple config files. This work improves observability, accelerates incident response, and provides a scalable foundation for RP monitoring across environments. The changes are tracked in two commits: 95d2b821ee5912a1fb7a7ab455f5897a2e9c716e (ARO-25999: add ARO-RP monitoring lane) and 85764a7838909909057c8c66a23e7afcc62f0e9c (Regenerate rendered configs after adding monitoring.icm.rp; Run `make materialize` to pick up the new RP IcM config keys added to config.yaml and config.schema.json).

March 2026 (Azure/ARO-HCP) delivered two major features that materially improve cross-environment observability, configuration flexibility, and reliability. Key features implemented include parameterized cross-cluster Kusto scripts with dedicated configurations for hosted control plane and service logs, and a comprehensive Observability and Metrics Enhancements package that adds backend metrics controllers for operations, clusters, node pools, and external authentication. These changes strengthen Prometheus integration, refine label and tombstone handling, and stabilize metrics collection by launching a pre-bound metrics server during tests. Overall, the month delivered higher observability, more flexible scripted configurations, and more reliable monitoring, enabling faster issue diagnosis and easier environment parity across environments.

March 2025: Delivered an end-to-end API demonstration for deleting a node pool in Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO-HCP); introduced a Bash script (demo/delete-nodepool-rp.sh) that sources environment variables and common functions, retrieves the subscription ID, and issues a DELETE request to the node pool endpoint. This work documents API workflow and limitations to aid automation and onboarding. No major bugs fixed for Azure/ARO-HCP this month.
