During November 2025, Szewcson enhanced firmware version visibility for the GDK101 device in the esphome/esphome repository by implementing a text sensor-based reporting mechanism using C++ and Python. Szewcson also updated the esphome/esphome-docs repository, aligning documentation with the new reporting method and clarifying configuration and status guidance for users.
