Worked on the kubecost/cost-analyzer-helm-chart repository to address a connectivity issue between Grafana and Prometheus within Helm chart deployments. Focused on DevOps practices, the developer implemented a targeted bug fix by introducing conditional logic in YAML templates to correctly configure the Grafana datasource URL based on the global Prometheus enablement setting. This approach ensured that Grafana dashboards consistently retrieved accurate data from the appropriate Prometheus instance, aligning with global configuration and reducing data retrieval errors. The work included validating the Helm chart changes, documenting the update, and preparing the fix for release, demonstrating attention to reliability and maintainability.
