Worked on the aws/amazon-ecs-agent repository to deliver an upgrade for SSM endpoint resolution, enabling robust IPv6 and dual-stack support. The approach involved replacing legacy endpoint logic with the AWS SDK’s UseDualStackEndpoint, streamlining configuration and reducing technical debt. By removing redundant resolution functions, the codebase became easier to maintain and better aligned with future network requirements. This enhancement prepared the agent for reliable operation in IPv6-only environments, supporting evolving infrastructure needs. The work was implemented in Go, leveraging backend development and network programming skills to ensure compatibility and maintainability, while focusing on foundational improvements rather than bug fixes this month.
