Worked on improving HTTP transport reliability in the modelcontextprotocol/inspector repository by enhancing the client’s handling of 401 Unauthorized responses from the StreamableHTTP transport. Focused on strengthening authenticated flows, the developer implemented detection and robust error handling for unauthorized responses, thereby increasing client resilience. The technical approach involved TypeScript and front end development skills, resulting in a focused, auditable commit that clarified error semantics and established a foundation for future retry strategies. Over the course of the month, the work addressed a specific reliability concern, ensuring that the client can better manage authentication errors in HTTP communication scenarios moving forward.
