Worked on the defenseunicorns/uds-common repository to enhance upgrade reliability by addressing a critical issue in version detection. The solution involved normalizing version tag prefixes, specifically by stripping the leading 'v' from version strings before comparison, ensuring that the upgrade process consistently selects the correct latest version regardless of tag format. This change stabilized upgrade path selection and reduced the risk of failures and rollbacks in production environments. The work focused on improving CI/CD workflows and was implemented using YAML and scripting skills within a DevOps context, resulting in more predictable and reliable upgrade behavior for the project’s deployment pipelines.
