Worked on modernizing the grpc/grpc repository by upgrading the entire codebase to Python 3.10, focusing on both source and test files as well as configuration. The effort included dropping support for Python 3.9 and updating all relevant Dockerfiles to ensure alignment with the new Python version. Leveraging skills in containerization, DevOps, and Python development, the developer generated new Docker images and integrated them into the build pipeline. Comprehensive validation was performed to confirm compatibility and stability under Python 3.10, with no regressions detected. This work improved performance, security, and maintainability while ensuring traceability through issue-linked commits.
