During January 2026, Tom Kellogg developed a new EC2 network performance feature for the opentofu/terraform-provider-aws repository, focusing on bandwidth weighting support within launch templates. He designed and implemented a new schema for network performance options, integrating these enhancements through Go-based API handling functions. This work enables users to fine-tune EC2 instance throughput and optimize cost-performance ratios directly from Terraform configurations. By improving the flexibility and maintainability of backend infrastructure, Tom’s contributions laid the foundation for broader network performance customization across the provider. His efforts demonstrated expertise in API development, AWS EC2 networking, and backend development using Go.
