Developed and delivered the Disk I/O Activity Indicator Applet for the linuxmint/cinnamon-spices-applets repository, providing users with real-time visual feedback on disk read and write activity. The work involved implementing asynchronous file operations in JavaScript to improve responsiveness and reliability, as well as removing the zenity dependency to streamline integration. UI assets were updated and translation files refined to enhance localization and user experience. Partition filtering logic was improved to ensure accurate activity signals across multiple drives. This feature-focused contribution demonstrates proficiency in JavaScript, Linux applet development, and front end engineering, resulting in a more informative and maintainable applet.
