Worked on the geerlingguy/linux repository to enhance audio input functionality for TongFang X6AR5xxY and X6FR5xxY devices by implementing targeted improvements in the ALSA HDA Realtek driver. Used C programming and kernel development skills to add PCI quirks that enable reliable headset microphone detection, addressing device-specific compatibility issues. Focused on kernel-level debugging and patch hygiene to ensure the changes were suitable for upstream review. This work improved out-of-the-box microphone reliability for affected hardware, reducing user-reported issues and enhancing the overall user experience. The technical approach emphasized maintainability and device-specific adaptation within the Linux audio driver stack.
