During August 2025, Kitayu contributed to the influxdata/homebrew-core repository by implementing MCP protocol support for the awsdac-mcp-server binary. Kitayu designed a dedicated build process in Go, focusing on build systems and command-line tooling to enable MCP-based server functionality. The work included developing a test case that automatically validates the new server’s MCP protocol operations, ensuring reliability and correctness. Additionally, Kitayu extended the awsdac tool to support MCP-based interactions, laying the groundwork for future MCP-enabled deployments. This feature-driven contribution improved automated validation and established a technical foundation for broader MCP adoption, though no major bugs were addressed during this period.
