In February 2026, Umut Ozdemir enhanced the epam/ketcher repository by delivering two features focused on accessibility and maintainability in front end development. Using JavaScript, React, and TypeScript, Umut improved the ColorPicker and SpecialSymbolsButton components by implementing ARIA roles and refining semantic structure, making the editor more usable for assistive technology users. The work also included refactoring loop structures and optimizing the spacebarsplit function to increase code readability and maintainability.
