During February 2025, Shugel enhanced the martinvonz/jj repository by integrating mergiraf as the default merge tool at the CLI level. This work involved configuring deterministic merge behavior using TOML for structured settings and leveraging CLI configuration skills to optimize performance with the --fast argument for structural merges. Shugel also defined explicit exit codes for merge conflicts, enabling more robust automation and improved error handling in downstream tooling and CI environments. The changes standardized merge workflows across projects, laying groundwork for future integrations.
