Worked on improving pull request governance and workflow reliability for the runatlantis/atlantis repository by addressing a bug in the mergeability logic. Focused on backend development using Go, the work involved correcting how draft pull requests are classified, ensuring that drafts are recognized as non-mergeable and cannot be merged prematurely. This change reduced the risk of accidental merges and minimized the need for manual checks, leading to smoother CI/CD automation. The solution required debugging GitHub’s mergeability status, collaborating through signed commits, and applying governance principles to automation pipelines, ultimately enhancing code quality and the stability of the PR workflow.
