Worked on the ROCm/llvm-project repository to enhance AMDGPU GlobalISel by adding support for the G_READSTEADYCOUNTER intrinsic. Developed RegBankLegalize support, integrating new legalization rules to ensure the intrinsic is properly handled during register bank selection. Updated and extended the test suite, enabling additional testing flags to guarantee comprehensive coverage and correctness of the new feature. The work focused on compiler development and low-level optimization, utilizing C++ and LLVM IR to implement and validate the changes. This contribution improved the handling of hardware-specific intrinsics in embedded systems, reflecting a focused and technically detailed approach within a short development period.
