Worked on the kubernetes/autoscaler repository to enhance error handling for OCI Nodepools, focusing on improving the detection and classification of Out of host capacity errors. Addressed reliability during capacity events by refining the identification of InternalError messages and incorporating checks for QuotaExceeded scenarios, which reduced false positives and enabled faster recovery. Removed redundant logic related to empty node IDs, streamlining error reporting and maintenance. Utilized Go to implement these changes, applying skills in autoscaling, cloud provider integration, and error handling. The updates improved troubleshooting efficiency and contributed to more reliable autoscaler decisions during OCI capacity shortages, reducing potential downtime.
