Worked on enhancing the OctoPrint integration within the mib1185/homeassistant-core repository, focusing on user interface and experience improvements for Home Assistant users. Delivered two targeted features over two months, including a sensor iconography upgrade that assigned dedicated icons to each sensor class, enabling quicker visual identification and improved UI consistency. Introduced enumerated state mappings for the Octoprint status sensor, providing user-friendly labels and icons that clarified printer states and reduced user confusion. Employed Python and JSON for backend development and API integration, ensuring changes were robust, low-risk, and aligned with project guidelines while maintaining traceability and minimizing impact on existing functionality.
