Worked on the AutoMQ/automq repository to enhance system observability and operational stability by refining backend logging practices. Addressed a recurring issue in network programming where closed SocketServer channels triggered excessive error logs, leading to alert fatigue. The solution involved downgrading the log level for IllegalStateException from ERROR to WARN when a channel was already closed, ensuring that only actionable issues generated high-severity alerts. This targeted adjustment improved production monitoring efficiency without impacting core functionality. The work was implemented in Scala, leveraging skills in backend development, error handling, and logging to create a more manageable and informative monitoring environment for the team.
