Worked on reliability improvements in the UCT/IB/UD transport layer within the openucx/ucx repository, focusing on robust handling of stale destination endpoint IDs and acknowledgments. Addressed issues where data from previous connections could interfere with current sessions by ensuring that stale information is ignored and the destination endpoint ID is properly updated after a connection reset. Enhanced code maintainability and readability through code path refactoring and unification. Developed a dedicated GTest-based unit test to verify correct endpoint ID updates, leveraging C++ and network programming expertise. The work emphasized careful bug resolution and thorough validation to strengthen transport layer reliability.
