Worked on the ansible/eda-server repository to address a critical authentication bypass vulnerability by upgrading the PyJWT dependency to version 2.13.0. Focused on backend development and security best practices, the update was implemented as a drop-in patch by modifying the pyproject.toml file, ensuring no new dependencies were introduced. Validation involved running integration tests for authentication flows using Python and pytest, confirming compatibility with existing code paths. This work strengthened the security posture for OAuth2 and internal JWT flows, reducing the risk of token forgery. Collaboration included co-authoring and completing the review and merge process without blockers, emphasizing reliable dependency management.
