Keith Whitley developed initial Trino adapter support for the OpenLineage/OpenLineage repository, expanding DBT integration to recognize and process Trino data sources. He implemented logic in Python to construct Trino connection URLs from host and port information, enabling accurate source discovery and end-to-end lineage capture for Trino-based pipelines. This work broadened the system’s data engineering capabilities by allowing DBT to interface with Trino, addressing the need for comprehensive database integration. Over the course of one month, Keith focused on feature development rather than bug fixes, demonstrating depth in data engineering and database integration while delivering targeted, foundational improvements to the codebase.

January 2025 (2025-01) OpenLineage work focused on broadening DBT integration to support Trino, expanding data source coverage and enabling end-to-end lineage capture for Trino-based pipelines.
