Worked on expanding data lineage capabilities in the OpenLineage/OpenLineage repository by developing initial support for Trino within the DBT integration. Focused on data engineering and database integration, the work involved implementing a new Trino adapter type and constructing connection URLs from host and port details to enable accurate discovery and processing of Trino data sources. Using Python, the solution broadened the range of supported data sources for end-to-end lineage capture in Trino-based pipelines. The approach emphasized maintainable integration logic, allowing DBT users to seamlessly incorporate Trino into their workflows and improving the system’s ability to track data movement comprehensively.
