Worked on the softwaremill/sttp-ai repository to deliver a feature that adds citation support to the Anthropic Create Message API, enabling generated messages to reference their source material for improved traceability and provenance. The implementation involved designing new data structures for citation handling and updating content blocks to include source references, aligning the API’s responses with Anthropic’s expectations. Leveraged Scala and functional programming principles to ensure robust integration and maintainability, while also incorporating integration testing to validate end-to-end workflows. This work laid the foundation for enhanced auditability and compliance in message generation, supporting future improvements in source attribution and content provenance.
