During February 2025, Wenjie undertook targeted debugging work on the microsoft/markitdown repository, focusing on stabilizing CSV file handling in the plaintext converter. By correcting Windows-specific MIME type detection, Wenjie addressed a persistent data processing issue that affected cross-platform reliability. The solution involved Python-based adjustments to MIME type logic, ensuring that CSV files are consistently recognized and processed on Windows systems. This work improved the converter’s robustness and reduced user-facing errors related to file compatibility. Wenjie demonstrated strong skills in debugging, issue resolution, and Python, contributing a well-documented fix that aligned with ongoing discussions and maintained traceability within the project.
