Worked on the Mirantis/hmc repository to deliver configurable ETCD persistent volume claim (PVC) lifecycle control, enabling users to manage automatic deletion of etcd PVCs through the storage.etcd.autoDeletePVCs setting. Updated Helm charts and YAML templates to expose this configuration, ensuring that cluster templates reflected the new option and included appropriate version bumps. This feature reduced manual cleanup requirements and improved automation and consistency in Kubernetes deployments, supporting safer lifecycle management of etcd data. The work demonstrated a focused application of Infrastructure as Code principles, leveraging Helm and YAML to enhance operational flexibility and maintainability within hosted control plane environments.
