Worked on the renovate-bot/GoogleCloudPlatform-_-generative-ai repository to upgrade the live translation feature’s audio recording workflow. Focused on replacing a custom audio recording pipeline with Streamlit’s built-in st.audio_input(), enabling users to record audio of any length and eliminating the need for custom byte-conversion logic. This change simplified the codebase, reduced ongoing maintenance, and improved the user experience for live translation tasks. Leveraged Python, Streamlit, and Google Generative AI technologies to deliver a more scalable and maintainable solution. The work resulted in clearer ownership of the audio workflow and allowed for faster iteration on future enhancements and features.
