Developed and delivered a Web UI request logging feature for the nesquena/hermes-webui repository, focusing on capturing both the direct client IP and the first hop from the X-Forwarded-For header. Used Python to implement robust backend logic for HTTP request handling and logging, ensuring that client addresses are consistently recorded across all request paths. Added comprehensive tests to validate logging behavior and prevent regressions, thereby improving auditability and incident response capabilities. Demonstrated disciplined commit practices and maintained high code quality throughout the focused feature release, with expanded test coverage to reduce the risk of future issues in logging functionality.
