Worked on expanding the energy cost projection tool within the iiasa/message-ix-models repository to support Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, enabling more comprehensive scenario analysis for decarbonization strategies. The approach involved integrating new data files in CSV format, updating existing mappings, and defining base cost parameters and reduction trajectories for DAC. Leveraging skills in cost modeling, data engineering, and energy systems analysis, the work ensured DAC could be consistently compared with other technologies in energy cost projections. All changes were implemented in Python, with a focus on traceability and reproducibility, supporting robust decision-making for energy system planning and analysis.
