Worked on the sinfin/folio repository to enhance the reliability of image search functionality by addressing a backend issue that caused 500 errors when searching images with invalid numeric metadata. Applied Ruby on Rails and backend development skills to validate numeric fields, ensuring that NaN and infinity values were properly handled. Developed and integrated comprehensive tests to cover edge cases in image metadata search, which improved data integrity and system robustness. Focused on backend testing and code quality, the work contributed to a more stable user experience by preventing server errors and maintaining consistent search results within the Ruby-based application.
