Contributed targeted improvements to the nix-community/home-manager repository by enhancing the zed-editor module’s configuration management. Developed a defaultEditor option that sets the EDITOR and VISUAL environment variables through the mainProgram’s --wait flag, allowing users to specify their preferred editor consistently across environments. Expanded project governance by adding an additional maintainer for the zed-editor module, which improves support and maintenance responsiveness. The work focused on Nix and Nix package management, emphasizing maintainability and user experience. No bug fixes were required during this period, reflecting a focus on feature development and process improvements rather than reactive maintenance or troubleshooting.
