During September 2025, Zion contributed to the microsoft/teams.py repository by delivering a feature focused on cross-package naming consistency. Zion refactored the Python codebase to rename SystemMessage to Instructions, aligning the naming convention with the corresponding TypeScript implementation. This change was implemented using Python and required careful API design to ensure that the core functionality remained unchanged while improving cross-language compatibility. The work addressed onboarding challenges by making the codebase more intuitive for developers familiar with both languages. Although the scope was limited to a single feature, the refactoring demonstrated attention to maintainability and consistency across the Teams project’s ecosystem.
