Worked on the TeamNewPipe/NewPipe repository to address issues with timestamp rendering and link interactions in comment replies. Focused on Android development using Java, the solution involved implementing a custom LongPressLinkMovementMethod to enhance the handling of interactive links within comment text. This approach restored reliable timestamp functionality and ensured that links in comment threads were both visible and responsive, directly improving the user experience. The changes were localized to the comment rendering path, minimizing maintenance overhead and risk to other features. This targeted bug fix reduced support issues and contributed to smoother UI development within the project’s Android codebase.
