Worked on the google/horologist repository to enhance media attribution and provider context within the Android user interface. Delivered a targeted feature that introduced an optional appLabel field to the MediaUiModel.Ready class and updated the related API, enabling the display of the media provider’s app name directly in the UI. This addition was implemented using Java and Kotlin, with careful attention to backward compatibility by ensuring the new field remained optional and gracefully handled its absence. The work aligned with product goals for clearer attribution and improved analytics, laying the groundwork for broader provider-name labeling across media components in future updates.
