Worked on enhancing the Napari DeepLabCut plugin within the DeepLabCut/DeepLabCut repository by streamlining its activation process. The developer replaced the previous menu action trigger with a direct call to add the Keypoint controls dock widget, simplifying onboarding and improving the user experience for plugin activation. This update was implemented in Python, leveraging skills in GUI development and plugin architecture. The work focused on refining the launch_napari workflow to ensure more intuitive access to plugin features. Over the course of the month, the contribution centered on a single feature, demonstrating targeted improvements to the plugin’s usability without addressing bug fixes.
