Developed a cohesive, networked DEM workflow for the PolXR repository, focusing on multiplayer reliability and enhanced data visualization. Leveraging Unity, Photon Fusion, and C#, the work integrated prefab-based DEM spawning, host-controlled instantiation, and runtime diagnostics through debug logging. Unified input handling and network synchronization enabled consistent surface and radargram toggling across clients, while radargram visualization was refactored for networked mesh integration. The implementation included robust file system operations for loading DEMs from disk and improved scene management by removing legacy components. These contributions resulted in deterministic spawning, improved debugging, and a cleaner, more maintainable multiplayer experience for DEM applications.
December 2024 — PolXR: Built a cohesive, networked DEM workflow and enhanced visualization on Photon Fusion. Delivered end-to-end features including Photon App ID initialization with runtime DEM diagnostics; networked DEMs via prefabs with host spawning; DEM spawn order and layer toggle improvements; unified input handling and network synchronization for surface/bottom toggles; Photon-based object instantiation and DataLoader integration; re-enabled DEM loading from disk; radargram visualization with networked transforms and mesh integration; and cleanup of legacy components. This work yields reliable multiplayer DEM experiences, deterministic spawning, improved debugging instrumentation, and a cleaner scene. Technologies: Unity, Photon Fusion, BakingObjectProvider, NetworkRunner, DataLoader, NetworkInputData.
