During April 2025, Haoran Deng enhanced the test suite for the COMP4959_Project repository by focusing on the validation of turn order mechanics in the game’s backend. Using Elixir and leveraging backend development and testing skills, Haoran refactored existing tests, removed outdated cases, and introduced a new targeted test to better capture the current turn order logic. This work improved the accuracy and maintainability of the test suite, reducing flaky results and aligning tests with recent gameplay changes. The enhancements enabled faster feedback loops and safer releases, reflecting a thoughtful approach to quality assurance and continuous improvement in backend systems.
