Worked on enhancing cryptographic security in the pegasystems/pega-helm-charts repository by introducing a new isPegaHighlySecureCryptoModeEnabled flag, enabling independent activation of a FIPS-compliant cryptographic mode for Pega Infinity deployments. This update decoupled secure crypto mode from Hazelcast encryption, allowing more granular control over security configurations. The implementation involved updating the HIGHLY_SECURE_CRYPTO_MODE_ENABLED environment variable to reflect the new flag, facilitating secure mode activation through Helm chart deployments. Utilizing Go, Helm, and Kubernetes, the work addressed compliance requirements for regulated environments, improved audit readiness, and reduced the risk of misconfiguration in production, demonstrating depth in DevOps and cloud-native security practices.
