Worked on the Wiwynn/OpenBIC repository to enhance DIMM reliability and data-path safety within embedded systems. Developed and integrated PMIC error injection and monitoring capabilities, using C to implement IPMI OEM commands and a dedicated monitoring thread for error detection and logging. Improved system programming by adding logic to clear PMIC error flags and registers after detection, which increased hardware fault detectability and reduced false DIMM access errors. Addressed a bug by rerouting the I3C multiplexer to the CPU after DIMM data retrieval, minimizing unnecessary DIMM access and improving system stability, observability, and operational efficiency in firmware development and hardware interaction.
November 2024 monthly summary for Wiwynn/OpenBIC focusing on DIMM reliability and data-path safety. Delivered key DIMM-related capabilities and a stabilization fix that reduces incorrect DIMM access, translating to improved hardware fault detection, system stability, and operational efficiency. The work emphasizes business value through increased DIMM reliability, safer memory access paths, and clearer observability.
